Cottontail – Place lip/teeth between the “M” & “T” position, depress reed while blowing a 1 second burst of air through the call making the sound “Waa - Waa - Waa.” To make a Juvenile Cottontail sound, move to the “T” position.

Doe Distress – Place lip/teeth in the “M” position, depress reed while blowing 1½ to 2 second burst of air through the call making the sound “Waaaa - Waaaa - Waaaa.” To imitate a fawn, place lip/teeth between the “T” & “M” position.

Distressed Canine – Depress the reed between “T” & “M” position while blowing bursts of air at 2 to 2 ½ second intervals making the high pitched sound of “Yiiiiip - Yiiiiip - Yip - Yiiiiip - Yip.”
Rodent Squeaks – Depress the reed in the “T” position while blowing 1/3 to ½ second bursts of air through the call.

Wolf Ki Yi’s – Obtained by blowing and adding pressure with your lips to the reed; the harder you apply pressure the higher the note. The higher notes can also be obtained while blowing on the reed towards the tip. Lower notes are obtained further down the reed.
